Trip Connect helps adults meet travel friends, plan trips, verify profiles, and communicate safely. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who Can Use Trip Connect
Trip Connect is for users who are 18 years old or older. We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to create accounts.
2. Information We Collect
We collect account details such as your email address, login provider, display name, date of birth, gender, nationality, language, profile details, photos, trips, preferences, messages, support requests, verification submissions, and payment/subscription status.
If you use Trust Passport, we collect ID/passport photos and selfies for manual review. These documents are stored privately and are only used for verification and safety review.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to create and manage your account, show your profile to other members based on your settings, match travelers by trips and preferences, provide messaging, process verification, manage support, prevent abuse, and improve Trip Connect.
4. Photos, Documents, and Visibility
Your public profile photos may be visible to other members. Verification documents are not public. Trip visibility depends on your selected setting: everyone, friends only, or private.
5. Payments
Payments are processed through Stripe. Trip Connect does not store full card numbers. Stripe may collect and process payment information according to its own privacy policy.
6. Sharing Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate the app, including Supabase for authentication/database/storage, Stripe for payments, and Mapbox for location search.
7. Safety, Reports, and Blocking
Reports, blocks, support tickets, and verification information may be reviewed by authorized staff to help protect members and investigate abuse.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
You may delete your account from settings. When deleted, we aim to remove your profile, photos, trips, verification documents, connections, and account-related records, subject to technical, legal, fraud-prevention, or payment-record requirements.
9. Your Choices
You can edit your profile, hide your profile, control trip visibility, delete photos, block members, and delete your account. You can also contact support for privacy-related requests.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect member data, but no internet service is completely secure. Use a strong password and be careful when sharing information with other members.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Trip Connect grows. Updated versions will be posted on this page.
